Using bullet points, I’m going to give you my thoughts on a sequel that the world would have been OK without…‘Pacific Rim Uprising’!
- If you like to see monsters and robots unnecessarily run into and destroy buildings, this is the movie for you
- There is one scene where a Jaeger grabs and pulls down a bunch of buildings to hit a Kaiju with
- I know the people who built those buildings had to have been heated
- There is one scene where a Jaeger grabs and pulls down a bunch of buildings to hit a Kaiju with
- The whole drift capability ordeal didn’t seem to matter that much this time around even though the brought it up here and there
- How were the kids/cadets the last option for the big battle to pilot the Jaegers and how were they ready to?
- They Jaegers in this sequel were weak and kept getting beat up compared to its
predecessor
- There was plenty of action which this movie needed
- John Boyega showed potential as a good action star lead but his accent stopped some of the jokes from landing…no offense
- What’s with these destructive big robot movies? They can’t wait to end and get the title card up then the credits once the bad guy is defeated
- To Sum it Up: The action keeps this movie, with a blah plot, from being a waste of time
RATING: Might Stream
P.S. I have returned to my rating scale that I used to use but with a slight update. There are four different levels. Below is each level in order from best to worse and what each one means.
Must Own = A movie that is so good that I must add it to my Blu-ray collection when it comes out.
Would Accept as a Gift = I enjoyed the movie but don’t necessarily have to buy it (especially if I don’t have the funds to) myself but I would take it if someone bought it for me.
Might Stream = A movie that if I have the urge to watch again then I’ll just stream it from somewhere
Never See Again = Very simple. I don’t want to ever see this movie again.
