2016 Actor Power Rankings

2016 Actor Power Rankings

2016, like every other year, we saw some great performances from different actors, whether in one movie or multiple. Some might have chosen wisely and were apart of different great or successful movies. Whatever criteria you want to put forth, there were plenty of actors who had a great 2016. With that said, I decided to give my top ten actors for 2016 in what I like to call my 2016 Actor Power Rankings! So simply, below you’ll find the ten actors, from 10 to 1, that I think had the best 2016 for whatever reason. This is all my personal opinion so don’t be surprised or blow a gasket when you don’t see a name that you think should appear because trust me, it’s going to happen. Anyways, so without further ado, here is my 2016 Actor Power Rankings!

10. Idris Elbaidris-elba-luther
Reason:
– Did voice work in supporting roles for 3 big movies (‘Finding Dory’, ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Zootopia’)
– Although I was disappointed in this movie, he played the villain in the well-like ‘Star Trek Beyond’

9. Denzel Washington
Reason:
– Starred in the surprisingly entertaining ‘The Magnificent Seven’ and the critic darling ‘Fences’

8. Ryan Reynolds
Reason:
– The greatness of ‘Deadpool’ and all of its shocking but worthy success

7. Andrew Garfieldexternal
Reason:
– Killed his performance in ‘Hackshaw Ridge’ and (from what I hear) does a great job in ‘Silence’

6. Emma Stone
Reason:
– Put on a beautiful performance in ‘La La Land’ with the acting, singing and dancing and for all the current and future success of the film

5. Rose Byrne
Reason:
– Starred (and was hilarious in) ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ and had a solid supporting turn in the surprisingly good ‘The Meddler’

4. Seth Rogen0517rogen04_hi-300x200
Reason:
– Starred in, produced, and helped write two of the funniest movies of the year with ‘Neighbors 2’ and ‘Sausage Party’

3. Amy Adams
Reason:
– Put on great performances in these two great movies: ‘Arrival’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’
– Her presence wasn’t a reason ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ was disappointing

2. Jake Gyllenhaal
Reason:
– Put on great performances in these two movies I felt were great: ‘Demolition’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’
– Continued to show why he’s one of the best actors doing it

1. Ryan Goslingryan-gosling-nice-guy-2
Reason:
– Didn’t get overshadowed in ‘La La Land’ by Stone by putting on his own great all-around performance (acting, dancing, piano playing and so-so singing)
– Put on an even better performance in the underrated ‘The Nice Guys’

Alright, there is my 2016 Actor Power Rankings! Comment below with your own list or to tell me how awesome or trash mine was. Hopefully I do this again for 2017 so we can see if we’ll see any of the same faces and what new names will try to dominate 2017.
