This past holiday (Thanksgiving) weekend, ‘Frozen’ opened up in theaters and battled it out with the reigning box office champ ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’. The reigning champ left the weekend with another victory by taking the number one spot at the box office with $74.2 million. While ‘Frozen’ came in second with around $67.3 million, it did set a record. That record would be having the largest opening for a film during a Thanksgiving weekend.
‘Rise of the Guardians’ opened during the Thanksgiving weekend last year and brought in $23.8 million. In a top ten list of the biggest Thanksgiving weekend openings, would that film make the list and what films would come after ‘Frozen’? How about we just go ahead and take a look to get the answer.
