Prediction: The Next Movie With 3 Straight Weeks at #1

‘Gravity’ just got done reigning atop the box office for three straight weeks, but will another movie recreate that feat soon? I’m not 100% sure but there is a film that has a strong chance of doing so based upon the hype for it and the other movies being released around it. Before you begin to guess, no it isn’t ‘Thor:The Dark World’ or ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ (these movies will still be very successful).

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ looks like the most likely candidate to be the next movie to hold the top spot at the box office for three weeks straight. Thanks to the popular book franchise and the massive success of ‘The Hunger Games’, the sequel will definitely be one of the most successful movies of the year.

I feel ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will hold the number one spot at the box office for three weeks straight because of the movies being released the next two weeks after the sequel hits theaters. ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will no doubt open up at number one in its first weekend. In its second weekend, it’ll go against the weeks new releases of ‘Black Nativity’, ‘Homefront’, and ‘Oldboy’. None of those movies will be strong enough to intervene in the sequels dominance. In its third weekend, ‘Out of the Furnace’ is the main wide release and this film doesn’t have enough hype or star power (even though it stars Christian Bale) to interrupt ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ dominance either.

That third weekend will be the toughest because it always gets harder to sustain control over the box office as the weeks go on. But thanks to the release schedule, I believe ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ has the best chance to over come that obstacle. Comment below and tell if you agree with me or not.
